Course Description
Title: Citizen First Responder Programme (CFRP)
  1. To empower everyday citizens to become community first responders in order to build the self-help spirit within the community
  2. To equip participants with proper skills and techniques to resuscitate a collapsed casualty
  3. To provide basic First Aid treatments to common medical injuries such as stroke and breathing difficulties
  1. Activate appropriate emergency response system and follow the Emergency Action Principles
  2. Perform effective Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with the safe use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) machine
  3. Perform First Aid treatment for 7 common medical emergencies
  4. Familiarisation of a First Aid Kit and its contents
  1. Cardiach Arrest and You
  2. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  3. Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  4. Knowing Your Home First Aid Kits
  5. 7 Common Medical Conditions (Fainting and Unconsciousness, Breathing Emergencies, Heat-Related Emergencies, Burns and Scalds, Fractures and Sprains, Stroke and Bleeding)

Requirements and Certification
  • Citizen First Responder Programme (2 years Validity)
  • Assessment: (i) Theory Assessments
    (ii) Practical Assessment

    - Participants would need to fulfil 100% course attendance in order to be eligible for the assessments
    - Participants who fail the final attempt for any component will have to retake the entire course

    This course is accredited by the National Resuscitation Council. Each certificate is valid for two years. Refresher Citizen First Responder Programme will be available from 2018 onwards
    Pre-requisites: NIL
    Language: English
    Medical fitness:
    • No history of underlying medical heart and lung conditions
    • Must be physically fit with no pre-existing medical conditions such as knee, spinal or joints injury. Please consult your doctor before attending the course
    • Pregnant ladies are discouraged from undertaking the CPR practice due to safety reasons. In case of doubt, please consult your doctor
