Course Description
Title: Psychological First Aid (PFA)
  1. Learn the basics of providing psychological first aid to affected persons in times of crises and emergencies
  2. Gain basic competencies in recognising signs of distress in order to be able to establish a human connection in a non-intrusive and compassionate manner

  2. Describe possible ways of managing and coping with stress and emotional distress
  3. Understand Psychosocial Support under the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) context
  4. Understand Psychological First Aid and its application in everyday life and emergencies
  5. Establish a human connection with affected person in a non-intrusive and compassionate manner

  2. Introduction to Psychosocial Support
  3. Introduction to Psychological First Aid and Supportive Communications

    This is a highly-participatory course, which involves a series of role plays, demonstrations and group activities. Participants are encouraged to participate in all the classroom activities in order to fully maximise the learning opportunities available.

    This course is endorsed by the Danish Red Cross with support from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Reference Centre for Psychosocial Support
    Pre-requisites: Participants are recommended to be at least 16 years old to enrol for this course
