Course Description
Title: Refresher Occupational First Aid Course (ROFAC)
  1. Explain the duties and responsibilities of a First Aider at a workplace
  2. Listing and understanding the legal requirements listed under the Workplace Safety and Health (First Aid) Regulations
  3. Familiarisation of the First Aid Kit and its items
  4. Common workplace accidents and its accompanying First Aid treatents - Including prevention of such hazards
  5. Know the importance of early response to medical emergencies at the workplace
  6. Help victims of hazardous chemical exposure
  7. Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adult victims with the appropriate use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  8. Provide updates to participants on the safety protocols and workplace regulations
  1. Recognise a medical emergency situation at a workplace
  2. Activate the appropriate emergency response system and follow the Emergency Action principles
  3. Recognise the signs and symptoms of identified emergencies, illnesses and injuries
  4. Perform the necessary and correct First Aid treatment to a casualty based on the emergency, illness and injury
  5. Perform Cardiopumonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adult victims
  6. Perform CPR for adult victims with the appropriate use of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  1. Revision on First Aid Guides
  2. Occupational Safety
  3. Revision on First Aid topics (Symptoms, Signs and Treatments)
  4. Revision on Practical Skills in First Aid (eg. Bandaging, Choking)
  5. Revision on CPR + AED
  6. Revision on Workplace Safety and Accident Prevention Methods

Requirements and Certification
  • Occupational First Aid Course (2 years validity)
  • Assessment: For Refresher Occupational First Aid
    (i) Theory Assessment (Multiple Choice Questions - 70% Pass)
    (ii) Practical Assessment

    For Refresher Occupational CPR + AED
    (i) Theory Assessment (Multiple Choice Questions - 80% Pass)
    (ii) Practical Assessment

    - Participants would need to fulfil 100% course attendance in order to be eligible for the assessments
    - Participants who fail the final attempt for any component will have to retake the entire course

    This course is accredited by the Ministry of Manpower in compliance with ISO29990:2010 for Learning Service Providers. Each certificate is valid for two years.

    This course is applicable for Safety Development Unit Points (17 Points)
    • A valid (non-expired) certificate must be presented upon enrolment. Certificate must be valid until the course is completed
    • Existing certificate holders are recommended to enrol for a refresher course three months before the date of expiry on your certificate
    • Participants are required to submit their passport-sized photo (.jpeg) in digital format upon receiving the confirmation e-mail
    • Participants need to be able to read and understand basic English, equivalent to the ESS Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 5 and above standards
    Language: English
    Medical fitness:
    • No history of underlying medical heart and lung conditions
    • Must be physically fit with no pre-existing medical conditions such as knee, spinal or joints injury. Please consult your doctor before attending the course
    • Pregnant ladies are discouraged from undertaking the CPR practice due to safety reasons. In case of doubt, please consult your doctor
